Waiting for mother to return
We were visited today by the Director of Mental Health from the Ministry of Health in Wellington. Not a lot of time for anything else.
After I got home I changed and jogged down to Western Springs Lake. Once again no sign of the Dabchick family. However, there was this Australian Coot chick. I saw the adult swim away just before I took this photo.
The extra is a Pukeko parent and chick, the parent having pulled up a tendril of couch grass, which it then made smaller before offering it.
