A perfect summer day....

It was beautiful out on the Hauraki Gulf today, the sea was almost calm enough to water ski, the sky was blue and the fish were biting. We got the biggest snapper so far this season (48cm) and a small "flotilla" of little blue penguins came drifting by, turning on their backs and preening or just generally floating about. Unfortunately they didn't ever get close enough for a really good shot, so this heavily cropped image is the best of a mediocre bunch.
