Chiswick Spring Tide
We'd walked along a muddy, gravel-strewn south bank Thames towpath in the morning. By the time we'd walked across to Putney, along to Hammersmith and had lunch in The Dove pub, it was approaching 2pm amd my cousin was muttering about maybe getting wet feet.
How right he was. Here's The Thames up and over the gardens onto the street. We had to clamber up onto a wall and hold onto railings to get past the still rising waters.
Fun times.
I asked the gentleman closing his floodgate if they ever got any warning, and apparently they do. 3 or 4 more days of this to come.
