Diary of an Edinburgher

Prosecco Party

I do like starting the day with an extra hour in bed and then a rugby match. Hard luck Wales. I think they might as well engrave England on the Web Ellis Cup right now! They’re unbeatable.

JR took Archie a big walk to Midmar Paddock, then he had a wash and brush up, as we were meeting Rufus and his mum to go to a 'Puppies and Prosecco Party' in town at one of the eateries. There weren’t as many dogs/people as last year, and in fact, there were some noisy yappy wee dugs near us, and they weren’t on leads, and one made a run at Archie, but Rufus made a run at a big bouncy lab. But they were more generous with the prosecco this year, filling us up twice. They best dressed up dog was a corgi in a hot dog costume. Rufus had bat wings on, and Archie wore his bow tie (Extra) Some of the owners had made an effort, with a whole group of folk dressed as skeletons, and one chap in a very tight fitting Spider-Man costume.

A&B came and met us about 5pm, and we wandered through the Gardens, out of the crowds, to see the statue of Wotjek the Bear and then the wonderful Ross Fountain. I've always meant to go and see it at night.

We popped into the dog friendly All Bar One, and had nibbles and a wee glass of wine, then the bus home.

It was another glorious day, not as cold as yesterday, with wall to wall blue skies! Our visitors certainly have been lucky with the weather.
