Kincade fire

We woke to news of wildfires north of San Francisco and had to reevaluate our road trip plans. We had planned to head north and stop for lunch in Healdsburg at Bear Republic but had to change to its Rohnert Park taproom because Healdsburg was an evacuation centre for those affected by the fire.
We made sure to buy N95 masks before setting off. It was only after heading north after stopping in Rohnert Park that we first sighted smoke billowing from the hills and soon afterwards we had to put the masks on.
Roederer estate winery was still open for tasting so we stopped and enjoyed that, stocking up on champagne too.
By the time we got to Caspar just north of Mendocino it was mid afternoon and the sky was already the colour of this photograph. 
The wind direction changes tomorrow so hopefully we will have some clearer air.
