History in a bottle

Misty day in the potteries.

Working from home in the morning. In the afternoon went out to get some fresh air. Not so fresh perhaps alongside the busy A50 road where I came across this!

These steel outlines of bottle kilns are a flash back to Stoke's pottery making roots. I really like the faded green against the grass and trees.

Speaking of roots, I got my first glimpse of daffodil shoots today. Now I love daffodils, but come on. It's still only January. I'd prefer a little more space between Winter and Spring please!

Which reminds me. I'm looking forward to seeing what emerges from the ground in the garden at our new house. Hopefully I will blip some of that in the future.

Big day in my son's life today. He got his first ever pair of wellies in anticipation of possible snow at the weekend! Unfortunately he couldn't actually stand up in them, never mind walk in them though. But they are rather lovely and I'm sure he will get used to them. I hope! It would be great if he could experience snow for the first time.
