Mute commute!

This is me waiting to go home from work today on a peak hour train from Liverpool. A major city. Where is everyone?!

I used to commute 5 days a week into Liverpool. That train was packed, splitting at the seams, stuffy, old. A regular feature of shared conversations was about the need for more carriages as the available breathing space between passengers grew smaller with each passing year. I kind of miss the muffled sounds of headphones, the mobile phone exchanges and the chatting commuters.

Since moving to Stoke and going part time I only commute for 1 day and do 2 days from home. This is my new train. It's very quiet. Too quiet perhaps?
