Söråker Conference Centre
This weekend the Left Party is having a conference for all the districts in our region. It's interesting to meet new people working with the same questions and problems in surrounding areas. Sometimes one group have tried solutions which others haven't, and getting good feedback can save others time and effort.
The conference is being held in a conference centre originally owned by the Swedish Church but sold off many years ago. It's a lovely rambling place, with some beautiful hallways linking the various parts.
One of the points we discussed was a change in the Left Party's policy regarding the EU. Previously the policy was to work towards leaving the EU, whereas now it is to reform the EU from within. Could it be that certain recent events have led to this wise amendment?
There has also been a lot of discussion on the climate crisis, the urgency of taking action, and the lack of serious government policies in this area.
It's usually interesting to talk politics but when it comes to the climate crisis it can be frightening too!
