Ampersand

When the Hull city centre branch of M&S closed last year it was seen as summat of an end of an era. It's still empty now, like a lot of shops down Whitefriargate, and indeed, the place in general. Contrast that with the whole optimism of 2017 and Hull being the UK's City Of Culture, and it all feels like there's a real transition occurring....that could go either way.

And, the football team was in the Premier League back then too, but tonight I get to watch them in the championship on Sky at my folks' house so, erm, every cloud and all that.

Extra shows a total Hull icon. Never been part of BT, the city's always had it's own telecommunications company, and here we like our phone boxes cream!
