Dry & Parched

I am sure a lot of people in the Canterbury area will be feeling dry and parched like these leaves.
We have had very strong nor'wester winds, and they have knocked branches down, and of course leaves off the trees, and then they parch them out.
These have blown into a drift at my door.
We did have a little bit of rain this morning, but that would have been dissipated in about an hour, as we are over 28 C this afternoon.
