Solace Day 2 - Spotting Kingfishers

The day started off nicely but we have quite a bit of rain to work through. Between showers, the good news is, and I have a blipmate who will hate me all over again, we saw 7 kingfishers. The heron is a better shot so I've put it in Extras.

The bad news came in the evening! Sitting having a meal, we realised the water pump kept turning on when we knew thought there was no water running. We were wrong. There was water running under the foredeck beside where the new pump had been fitted and it didn't have the sort of connector we could tighten up. The Man had to lie on his side in a cupboard, trying to put a dish below the drip.

If you ever fancy owning a share in a narrowboat, don't choose one which is based in a marina close to where you live! We called the every reliable, Frank, who knew all too well the trouble the pump had already caused him. We filled pans with water and turned off the power to the pump. We will meet Frank somewhere tomorrow.
