Coventry Basin
So t'was time to bid farewell to Coventry. We've had a great time moored in the basin, surrounded by mainly student housing, just beyond the city centre & very handy for Wickes (smokeless fuel, tools & timber) yet relatively quiet as we are about a 15 minute walk from the nearest bar/restaurant. The basin houses old canal warehouses, the Coventry Telegraph offices, a narrowboat hire company as well as a statue of James Brindley one of the most notable engineers of the 18th century having built over 365 miles of canal in his lifetime. (1716-1772)
