No love lost

The white swan lost its partner some months ago having been attacked by a dog.  The Commune, after some local pressure, sought out a replacement and I saw a video of the young new swan arriving and being released into the water.  It was lovely to see the two swans apparently making friends but the friendship did not last.  The larger female swan later attacked the newcomer and kept harassing it.  Finally, the Commune has built a fence around the top end of the lake to protect the new swan and I was pleased that it has now at least found its way into the water rather than just sitting traumatised on the bank.  I walked up to the belvedere and around the park in the afternoon having been entertained more by the rugby than by the coverage of parliament!
