Subtle

Friends of Belair National Park had their annual bus trip today, and we went to visit the International Bird Sanctuary at St. Kilda.  The weather was not our friends - a strong off-shore wind blowing, and really cold for this time of year.   Nevertheless we saw some migratory shore birds, and took a tour through the mangrove swamps.

Just outside St. Kilda is this salt pan - it's in commercial use, with the pink salt crystals harvested regularly. 

I love the subtle colours.
