Thursday travelling
Wow this seems a long time since I took this photo! It was actually only this morning.. but all the travelling back home makes it seems ages ago.
Our last morning and the sun was shining at 8:15 . Out with Fletch for his pre breakfast walk and everything looked so cheerful in the sunshine under a clear blue sky... could have been summer except it was only 5 degrees!
As we walked down the path I loved the light in the field so, out came the phone.
Breakfast , packed the car, another walk round the grounds..lovely huge trees, shame we were too early for the Autumn colours .
Off up to Greenwoods to collect the bonsai, akadama, wire and pot. Fletch got to meet their gorgeous dog.. a huge Japanese fluff ball. I forget what breed.. A bit of very careful packing and we got everything in amongst our bags. A good chat and a chance to see some of his amazing bonsai collection then off up the A1..
It was a beautiful sunny day.. the best day weather wise. Up to our next stop , a 15 minute diversion to collect a pot that Mike had commissioned.. While I chatted to the potters wife and made a huge fuss of their adorable Havanese terrier.. ( sorry Fletch.. but you had to stay in the car ) Mike went to look at the workshop and ended up buying an extra pot.
This was wrapped up in Fletch s blanket on his seat. He's a good dog..didn't complain lol
Then back to the A1 and the knowledge we d at least 3 and a half hours to get home. But the sun shone and I remembered the route so could ignore the SatNav wanting me to take the m62 to Manchester, then go round Leeds , then to Harrogate. Not sure why I left it on.
By the time we got to Gargrave and Twin locks we were ready to stop. The pub has just reopened and is much smarter than the old place so we decided to have something to eat. Dogs not allowed..so a walk to stretch his and our legs , then we left him to guard the car, with a bowl of his food and some of the sausage from breakfast.
It was nice to have a break from driving and saved cooking when we got home. As we left the heavens opened and continued to do so all the way home, another hour and half
Heating on and time for bed.
A rather rambling blip..but it's been a rather rambling day.
