at the head of the valley

This morning looked like a promising sunrise so I headed down onto Side Pike for this pano of Mickelden at the head of the Great Langdale valley. The firework colours didn't materialise as a bank of cloud moved in but it was a pleasant peaceful way to start the day anyway. Made even better by a scrummy bacon bap in Stoves.
The cloud soon cleared for a mostly blue sky day which was enjoyed by a walk up and around Loughrigg Tarn , see extra of the tarn.  Off to Eltermere Inn for dinner, crikey we have eat well this week.
