Nature Diary... A Wild and Windy Day.

While I sat peacefully at home the wind raged furiously outside, the sun shone brightly, and the sea looked incredible. The colours were wonderful and the white horses riding the waves were magnificent. Then way out to sea a tiny looking yacht sailed closer and closer, looking at times as though it would capsize in the gale-force winds.

I watched as it was blown nearer and nearer to the shore until it looked as though it would smash into the bank. Then, under the obviously expert supervision of the skipper, it was all crew on deck as they tacked the boat round with the wind behind it, brought down the jib, and sailed away in a much more stable looking fashion. How thrilling it must have been for those onboard!
