Nicky and her Nikon

Sunshine and snow after the rain

Last night it rained quite heavily, and this morning there was low cloud and mist. As soon as it started lifting we saw that all the surrounding peaks were covered in a thick layer of snow. Soon we had blue skies and with the snow capped peaks it looked so beautiful.

After breakfast Gavin had to phone the office and and soon as he was done we set off for a walk with Xena. It was a great day for photos and I took so many, the autumn colours, the blue skies and the snowy mountains all contributed to make it a brilliant day for photography. I have added extras - the mist swirling as the sunlight touched the base of the mountains, some of Xena and other lovely scenes.

Xena is loving her walks here, short ones as she cannot walk for very long yet, but when we find a grassy field she loves to run around and stretch her legs. Unfortunately she has discovered a penchant for cow sh*t, which we are trying to stop by firmly telling her no when she tries to eat it.

We had coffees and some cake at our favourite cafe - they do an amazing gluten free chestnut cake which is quite simple but very delicious. We did not feel like much for lunch so I made a tomato and lentil soup which was rather tasty. We also visited the pet shop in Davos to see if they had any good dog coats - they didn't.

The village is extremely quiet, it is out of season so many of the restaurants and hotels are closed until December when the winter season starts. I don't mind it, it feels as if the village belongs to us! I much prefer it like this to when it is so busy in the winter season.
