What an unusual day!

Work feels strange because the Boss is not around - fully occupied at the party conference in Aberdeen. Parliament is in recess, so the email flood is down to a trickle. No questions or speeches or motions to draft.

It is good.

Today’s other positives…

I cycled to and from work. We did not have yesterday’s blue sky all day, but it was dry.

At lunchtime I had a chance meeting with the father of one of Junior’s ice hockey team mates when he was playing under 10s and under 12s. At that age parents must be at training and games, so parents get to know each other. I rarely seem him now.

Junior was in the house when I got home from work. I have hardly seen him since I got home from my holiday - his work and university commitments.

I cooked a great dinner - ande bhujia, which translates as “Indian scrambled eggs” but is totally different from any European concept of scrambled eggs. Red onion, red chillies, black pepper, chopped tomatoes, eggs, cumin and coriander.

To finish dinner with a flourish I had half a mango with kefir.

My Blip does not really count as a positive, but we can’t have everything. The Office sends out quite a lot of snail mail, which I get rid of on my way home from work because I cycle past the Royal Mail depot anyway.
