Cobblers
As I've mentioned before, the village of Street evolved largely as a result of the Clarks' shoe business in the 19th Century; this part of a larger mural which depicts various aspects of Street's culture, in the grounds of what was the local Library, reflects the village's links with the shoe industry and, although it's in need of restoration and cleaning, I thought it provided a bit of colour for the October Colour Blitz.
As it happens, I was on my way to the one remaining shoe repair shop to buy a new pair of laces when I took this.
We've had a quiet Monday, doing a bit of shopping and trying to keep out of the rain showers.
