Cemetery statue

The reason we went to Kayosan was to visit the Okunoin cemetery. It has existed since the 8th century is about a mile long in which the are about 200000 stupa (statues)!

In addition, there were lots of Buddha type statues, often partially clothed liked in the picture. Photographically speaking, it was both heaven and hell; a huge number of things to take a picture of but very hard to do it well! Happily, it was rather cloudy and a bit drizzly, much easier from a photographic point of view.

Hopefully this effort works reasonably well, notwithstanding the nearly cut off top of the head! I'm still getting used to the panoramic resolution on my phone.
