Look Who’s Back!!

Freddy came to visit me last month (here) and he was back today! With his dad who was here to totally clean out my pond and to install a new pump.

Don’t let that sweet adorable face fool you! Freddy is a wild child and super naughty! Most of these pictures are taken with me standing in my conservatory with the window open because as soon as I went outside he jumped all over me with wet muddy paws! Yes, my clothes went in the wash when they left! I can’t help but love him, though! He was hilarious trying to get drinks of water from the hose when the pond was being filled up again - almost falling in. Wish I’d got a picture of THAT!

I was glad to get the pond cleaned out. It’s been several years. Only two fish were found. I’ve had as many as 30 at at times and they’ve increased by breeding - I’ve never bought fish since I’ve lived here although I think I may get some new ones soon. Sadly, the heron has stopped by for his lunch a few times, although I rarely actually see him.

I have a new pump so the water is circulating better and it even has a UV light to help keep the water clean. There’s also a fountain attachment which I may get set up next summer. The plants have all been cut back for winter so that’s another job ticked off my list this week.

I spent much of the day continuing my paper decluttering. I’m making good progress and it’s very satisfying!

This evening I went into Reading to see the musical version of Amelie which had previously been released as a movie almost 20 years ago. The stage production was very cleverly done and it was a fun evening with friends, some whom I haven’t seen in a very long time!
