Too good to eat !

Very special afternoon spent in the company of fellow blipper Peebz so this amazing carved melon has appeared in 2 blips today albeit at a slightly different angle . It certainly made for a very attractive display on the sweet table - I have to confess I headed for my favourite the apple crumble and custard !

We were celebrating the 80th birthday with friends of a wonderful man - a minister , piper and much more who until very recently was the locum in our church and I am sure he hasn’t preached his last sermon.

The food and company was great but the highlight was listening to the very first public performance of a pipe tune written by the very talented young lady pipe major and named after him - although he plays in the pipe band they had learned the tune in secret and it was a complete surprise for him.

Needless to say the cake was very appropriate. ( extra)
