Squelching

I was digging again today and it wasn’t the best weather for it, to be honest, and it was almost as muddy inside the HQ tent as it was outside. This is where we have our breaks and shelter from the elements. There are two other, smaller, tents: one for finds processing and one which houses an exhibition for visitors telling the story of the site, which was a Romano-British settlement.

We called it a day at about 3pm when heavy rain set in and that was fine by me!
