Eat Those Leftovers

January 6 was King's Day, the end of the Christmas season and the day the children receive their presents. Everyone buys this bread or cake called ROSCA, which is circular like a wreath. Hidden inside is one or more little plastic baby Jesus. Whoever gets the Jesus in their piece has to have a tamale party on Feb. 2, which is Calendaria Day.
Today when we went into the bakery to buy bread, there were stacks and stacks of the rosca on sale for less than half price!
I don't know if the baby Jesus/tamale party connection is still valid since the real holiday is past.
