Dover Castle!

Perched magnificently above the town -a powerful fortress ready to repel any foreigners who dared cross the channel and invade the country! Recently it has undergone a 2 million pound facelift by English Heritage to upgrade the tourist facilities (currently no:6 in the top 10 of most visited Heritage destinations!)
I remember visiting as a 12 year old and being very impressed by the dungeons!!
At night it is a stunning sight when illuminated as it appears to be 'floating' in the sky above Dover and The Channel!
