The next valley

Weheaded over into the next valley to lunch with friends. The Rotja valley is well known for its apple orchards, it being a little too cold for the peaches and soft fruits that grow in the main valley. The main variety is Golden Delicious, not my favourite, but okay if eaten straight from the tree when they are still crisp. Lunch was a vegetarian feast and in traditional French style, it was alfresco and lasted 3 1/2 hours.
