Sleepy Baby
It's been a busy day today! I had planned to ride the orange line from Community College to Forest Gate and walk to the Arnold Arboretum to take part in the Jamaica Pond parkrun. However, Becky spotted that there was major upheaval from works on the orange line so suggested we all go and the three of them take a walk around the park whilst I was running. Second however, we awoke to a typical Massachusetts autumnal day, very bright but very cold, certainly too cold for a week old baby, so very kindly Rob said he would drive me. I very much enjoyed my run in what is a very pretty park and my time was just over thirty minutes so that was okay too.
After a quick shower and a cuppa it was time to do some shopping for the new house. The staircase needs a runner to make it safer for carrying Euan up and down the stairs and the most tired room in the new house is the bathroom which is badly in need of refurbishment. So we went to look at both and had more success at the Carpet Workroom where the guy who greeted us was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave Becky and Rob several ideas of what they could do.
We picked up some lunch and came back to the apartment for a quieter rest of the day. As it was still so lovely, and a little warmer, I took the shopping bags and walked over Bunker Hill to Wholefoods to pick up some food for dinners for the next couple of days. It may be that everything is in English but it still took me a long time to make my choices from Becky's list and I had to ask for help a couple of times.
Meanwhile in Baby World, Euan continues to fill out with all this excellent feeding from his Mum. We are all convinced he will have gained weight from last week when he goes for his check up on Tuesday. Last week he was lost in even the newborn clothes but now they are increasingly looking as if they fit him. This is Euan in one of his famous 'replete' modes, in Mum's arms with his arms above his head.
Tomorrow we hope to go for a walk in the Fells.
