Its the Way It Is

Cetinje to Kotor

Our day started with a visit to King Nikola’s Palace in Cetinje (the old royal capital of Montenegro) and to the Christian Orthodox Monastery of Saint Peter. I lit candles for all loved ones in the courtyard - a separate place for candles for the living and the dead.

Then to Njegusi, birthplace of the Petrovic dynasty. Here we tasted some ham from their huge smokehouse. Thousands of hams hung from the ceiling and it was a most unusual sight (extra).

Then lunch

Then a spectacular drive through 30 perilous bends of narrow mountain road with barely a barrier or bit of wall between huge coach and drop you can see in main photo. It’s called the Serpentine Road. Watch the link and notice bend 10. I seriously thought we were done for. The craic on the bus was great.

Back to hotel for sea swim - off now for slap up feed and have my dancing shoes on.
