Last Day -Shetland Day 7
It takes a while to get used to one’s own company after almost a week with someone else, but I was determined to wring the most out of my last day in Lerwick.
I went a walk round the Knab in the early morning sunshine at breakfast time and admired the views of the town in the sunshine. I returned by Commercial Street where the lodberries are, and had to blip this door. I have blipped it before on a previous visit as has 60° North, but it makes me smile every time I pass it.
My lovely hosts had allowed me to keep my room until the afternoon which enabled me to leave my luggage and go for coffee unencumbered and then visit the Wool Week market in the Anderson High School and have a peaceful walk round Clickimin Loch with its broch.
Another foot march and I paid my last visit to the Hub at the Museum before picking up my luggage and getting a lift to the ferry for my overnight sailing to Aberdeen.
I’ve so enjoyed this week I’ve booked again for next year, DV! And the sun is still shining!
