Madrid Airport
We flew home today with Aer Lingus, from Madrid to Dublin and then on to Bradley airport near Hartford. The Madrid airport is huge--nearly as big as Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. There are five separate terminals; the image shows part of Terminal 4. The structure is similar throughout, with paired slanting columns in the interior, and single ones outside--here on the right. The glass sidings are characteristic, keeping the interior light and spacious. At Bradley our shuttle service to Northampton arrived promptly; we arrived home just after 6 pm, after having awoken at 7 am Madrid time, making a journey of 17 hours. We headed soon to bed, and I am posting this the next afternoon.
