Off-season

Interesting time to visit Long Island... This is right at the end of the tourist season, and many of the restaurants, museums and other tourism-related businesses have already closed (with signs saying "See you in May!") or at least scaled down their opening hours.The good part of it is that the notorious crowding and traffic of the summer is just...absent :) It was probably the combination of that timing and today's weather - from near 30C when we arrived yesterday to a blustery 10 or so today - that meant we were the only people on this beach we visited.
