Hearty

I’m glad today is over.

To some extent, it was a sitting-around day but whilst my body may have been a little inactive, my thoughts and my emotions were going all over the place.

A very very long day, needing to get up in the 5’s, but a useful day. The procedure on DougsJB’s heart seems to have gone well. It took them longer than expected because they found they were ‘working’ on the wrong side!

But he’s home. We’re home. Grateful for Puddleduck’s company in the afternoon. And for Frip who was here with chocolate and a hug when we eventually got home.

DougsJB now needs to be gentle with himself and gentle as he starts running again. It’s not the heart he’s been warned about - it’s the wound in the groin, where they fed 3 wires through a vein and up towards his heart.

I am grateful for so much. For a loving Sovereign God, for praying friends and family, for the NHS, for the super duper and capable staff and for my ‘repaired’ DougsJB.

And if you think it’s weird, having a bowl of red chillies as the biggest photo, it’s only because I appreciated the colours in the hospital cafeteria ... not because they’re better to look at than him! :-)
