Diary of an Edinburgher

Good job done

Archie had an exciting morning walk - he met Andrew, the builder who did our kitchen renovations. Archie loved Andrew, and they always made a fuss of each other. He's working on the flat next door now. Archie also met Elizabeth. A good start to the day.

I watched the France/USA game on the iPad while on my bike, then watched the All Black/Canada game. But it became obvious the ABs did not need my support, so at half time I went up the hill with JR and Archie. Lovely blue skies, but rather chilly. I left them to walk on down the hill to Midmar Paddock and walk home. That's the new Higgs Centre at the bottom of the hill.

I then took a notion to trim the hedge for the last time before winter. It always feels good when we get that done. JR arrived back in time to assist, and in fact, moved on to the garden with the secateurs.

Why does everybody say 'from the get go'. I keep hearing it on tv. Almost as annoying as rugby commentators (and more) calling the ground 'the floor'. But not nearly as annoying as 'I am sat' or I was 'stood'.

Sorry, got carried away... that developed into a bit of a rant...
