Grebe

It's pay back time :) After not flushing out a snake for me last year Not A Snake and yesterday getting me flapping around like a chicken trying to get Keas to fly - n0t easy when they are not frightened of people and food was to be had - TeeJay missed a shot that I got.

A Southern Grebe. She had looked at Lake Te Anau hoping to find one of these rare birds but it wasn't until we were on a sailing around Lake Wakatipu in Queenstown that two were pointed out and told that there were as few as 400 left.

So a very rare find indeed - and guess who didn't have the right lens on ...... ;)
