off camera

I realized that if I took a bunch of pictures of my dog with flash and he didn't like it he might stop posing for me altogether, so prepare for pictures of goofy things.

This is an elephant with off-camera lighting. I have a short cord, so I can't get far from the light, but at least the off-camera cord works. This is on the higher power and is backlit with my lamp.

I suspect gear will go on sale Black Friday after Thanksgiving and I'm not in a rush so I will wait until then to get a good off-camera flash and I'll practice with what I have until then.

We bought this toy for Samuel - but it sings and flaps its ears - and Samuel did not respond by wanting to play with it - he responding by grabbing his monkey and trying to look cute and get us to play with him, Samuel. Samuel was jealous of the elephant! Samuel wanted us to pay attention to cute, adorable him, not the elephant. He does this every time we try to play with the elephant. I think it is because the elephant sings, Samuel hasn't responded this way with any other toy that squeaks or chirps or ribbits.
