Ashgill falls

Wet day for my first walk. It started off not too bad but by the time we got here for a first lunch the rain was steady so we didn't stop long, the falls were benefiting, though.
Just after we headed up onto the open fell and it was a case of getting the head down and keeping going. By the time we got down to Nenthead for our second lunch the rain was lighter again and it actually stopped for the last few miles.
The 16 mile walk turned into 17 as we had to make a detour to avoid part of the river bank because the water was so high, the noise once we got back to the river bank was loud.
Once back at the hotel I met my friend who was coming for a couple of days and we had a meal in the hotel
