Last day of September.

We went out earlier this morning as the weather forecast for later was not too good.
Donning our walking boots we set off for the park and we’re not disappointed.
The trees were still dripping moisture from the downpours of last night, but the temperature was very mild and in clearings the light fell in diffused rays on to the fallen leaves.
Everything smelt of dampness and autumn. Fungi has appeared.
The pools were so still the reflections of the trees were perfectly mirrored.
I had to take off my walking jacket part way round as I was so warm, and I slipped it between the straps of my small backpack.
It was so good to be outdoors having spent almost 4 hours in the car going there and back to Bristol the previous day.
Good to stretch our legs and have some exercise.
As I write it is now wet and gloomy outside, hard to believe after such a glorious morning.
