Old Avon

I've mentioned before about the course of the Avon being changed when the railway embankment was built. You can still see where the new and old diverge, with the old course feeding the fishing lakes via a culvert. It is less clear where they meet again - currently the overspill from the lakes rejoins the Avon via a modern drainage channel.

I'm fairly certain though that this is the old riverbed, running from left to right. though it isn't always so muddy. I'm afraid the poodles were a bit messy by the time I got them home.
