I discovered it was the wrong day to sally forth on two wheels when I was caught in the rain. How lucky then that I was giving my new yellow waterproof cycling jacket its first outing even though that didn’t stop my trousers getting soaked.

I had dropped into the local bike shop on Wednesday to look at saddles and found the jacket at half price in the sale.

It’s been a wet gloomy day, perfect for knitting and packing for tomorrow’s next big adventure. Time now, though, for the TGIF drink meeting with neighbours. A fitting end to this week and a welcome nod to the next one.
