Photoville
One of the many benefits of Blipfoto, I'm finding, is that I view the world much more visually than I used to. I see, I observe, and I look out for interesting shots. I don't aim to be a great photographer, but I'm enjoying being more aware of the path I walk.
So today I went to Photoville, a huge multi-photographer exhibition in Dumbo, right under the Brooklyn Bridge. Each exhibition was housed in a container. There were some excellent displays, mostly (but not all) kind of photojournalism - women serving life sentences, wild life tourism, Bedouins evicted from their village by the Israelis, women victims of sexual assault (photos now and from the age they were abused - very moving) and more and more. Very enjoyable!
Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge was one of those moments when you can't help but realize the nature of overpopulation. Crowds and hordes. Not enjoyable, but lovely to look out over the water.
My last evening in NY. A delightful dinner with Luca and Jim at the apartment. We booked Luca's flight to Italy for Christmas, which made me happy.
