A foul day yesterday, dark and lashing and the blip mojo went awol. The day was retrieved by chips and the first Art House of the Autumn and what a cracker to start with : Woman at War. A really unusual, visually stunning, darkly funny, pertinently serious and quite unique film set in Iceland - highly recommended. Great music too.

Today we've had no electricity (expected) and as the weather has only slightly improved - rain not quite so torrential - we took ourselves off for a bowl of soup in Bantry then went for an amble around Glengarriff woods. The beech trees just changing colours, the mosses sodden and dewy, the eucalyptus trees (odd, yes) smelling pungent and the water spurting over the waterfall. Beautifully quiet and soporific.
