THE MAGIC OF ABALONE

This is CC's most recent soundhole decoration featuring rather a lot of abalone.

I struggle to get my mind around the fact that this wonderful material is produced in complete darkness - yet when it's exposed to light, it refracts it in the most amazing ways producing turquoises, viridians, mauves & purples.

I, or is it my wee camera's apparently not able to do it justice, but we gave it a go!
