Colchicum Autumnale

These autumn crocuses have such long slender stems that they are easily flattened by heavy rain, dogs feet and large birds like pigeons who don't care where they walk or what plants they destroy.

There was some rain this morning but I was indoors playing badminton so missed the downpour.  The afternoon has been warm and dry with occasional glimpses of the sun.
