The way home

Smudge has her own route into the house. When she has been out exploring on the lane - which is not a safe place for cats - and she sees us returning, she jumps up on to the branch of a tree which divides our drive with our neighbours. After a few minutes of surveying the scene she jumps up on to the top of the side gate, makes her way over a low roof alongside our house until she reaches the back garden. Through the cat flap and she arrives back indoors.

The first day of autumn has had mixed weather. Quite warm but it has rained on and off. It has been two days since i have been in the garden . For an outdoor person who was seldom indoors, regardless of the weather, my life has changed somewhat.

I had an afternoon appointment with the oncology consultant. The results of the CT scan showed that the cancer has not spread, although the ovarian growth was not reduced. I should recommence chemo next Tuesday if my blood tests are okay.

A bit of good news and a nice surprise - my daughter phoned today to say she was coming to visit tomorrow until Thursday. She lives in Brixham , Devon and has a long journey with a number of train and underground changes. I havent seen her since she visited me in Intensive Care in May.

Hopefully the weather will improve over the next few days, although the garden needs the rain.
