WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

On our recent trip from Skipton to Leeds and back, we paired up with a lovely elderly couple and their dog - David, Ann and Bonnie (Beagle) on their little narrowboat 'PROSPECT'.
We helped each other at the swing bridges and shared the locks - Ann and I at the tillers and the men opening/shutting the lock gates while Bella and Bonnie kept each other company.
We parted company when we arrived back at Skipton.
Today, back on our mooring we were pottering about when who should come through the gate to the towpath but David and Bonnie. He had walked the couple of miles from the other side of Skipton to see where our mooring is.
We sat out in the sunshine and had a cuppa and biscuits and a good old natter. Bella and Bonnie were pleased to see each other again. Bonnie is such a sweet little dog - also a rescue.
We have met so many wonderful and interesting people along the way since we've had Fiddlesticks. We keep in touch with many of them by email or messenger even though we may not see each other for years - if at all. The canal system is extensive so the chances of seeing them soon are slim.
Happy days :-)
