On Reflection
A stunning day in the mountains started with this view of Yewdale Tarn on route to Langdale valley. It was a difficult choice as to which photo to choose.
It was the best weather of our stay and we decided on a mountain day climbing the Langdale pikes. Our route took us away from the crowds heading up to Stickle Tarn.
Son Stephen was very amusing with a very good impersonation of Alan Bennett’s voice narrating his take on the adventures of Mam and Dad. I wish I could have recorded all the anecdotes.
We made the descent down to Stickle Tarn which was the highlight for Richard remembering climbing Jacks Rake onto Pavey Ark. Apparently it was all due to Wainwright that he took it on without a second thought!
Glad we took the poles for the descent. Even so the knees did complain but well worth every step.
To quote Stephen the cup of tea we had at New Dungeon Ghyll in enamel mugs was the best he had ever tasted!
