From the Porch

Well it all went horribly wrong.  After being the apogee of ceilidh dances in the dance calendar, last night’s SF Dance in the Peedie Kirk Hall was a drop, a disappointment.  Horrible floor to dance on, the usual house band wasn’t quite as syncopated (with a poor PA), the MC disappeared after 10 minutes and many folk just didn’t show.  So what to do ?  Tonight’s dancing was streets ahead featuring (as you will all have anticipated) the Glenalmond Gamekeeper.

I was unexpectedly visited today by a representative of MORI poll.  He’d pedalled all the way from central London.  I gave him my opinion.  He provided a welcome distraction from wrestling with the high finance of the accounts for the Hoy Kirk.
