You can take the girl out of Norfolk...
But as soon as she gets back she'll head to the beach.
And so our New Year's Eve started by with getting a big group together and going to the beach. Woke up quite late and at left overs from the dinner party for breakfast. Changed into wellies and wax jackets so that we felt like we belong to Norfolk. Richard drove me, where we met Ryan and Emily and their three dogs, and were later joined by Jonny, his girlfriend Sian and her two friends, Max and some of Emily's friends. Brief stroll along the beach (blame Jonny's bad hip for the brevity!) and then to the cafe for tea and cakes and brunch. Back to Max's to see how the new beach side pad was coming along (man that house is cool) and to chat with Shazza and Paulio (love those guys!) and drank tea in front of the fire. This is Norfolk life!
Richard drove me home via Cressida's (I'd left my bad at Lizzy's and needed it back!), I had time to shower and change and have a rapid Skype and then got my mum to drop me back at Richard's for a 'dinner' of cold mashed potato, cheese and banoffee pie. Not the New Year's Eve meal I was hoping for. Luckily Max had brought his own pizza which did rectify the situation. Emily and Ryan picked us up and drove us into the city where we walked to Martha's to get on the bevs. Later Justin came to get us and we drove slightly illegally to tescos for drinks and food (allowing Ryan to stop at Hot Hut for pizza!) Arrived at Jonny's around 8.30 and watched the antics unfold. Witness the introduction of Gay Ball, and generally danced and was merry. Saw the New Year in with good friends, don't think I could ask for more.
I'll stop with the Norfolk loving now, we all know who emotions are for...
