Day trip to France

I rode my bike up an unsealed road to hike to the Puerto de Bujaruelo and thence into France. Meandering onwards and upwards round the head of the Gavarnie Cirque in dramatic glaciated scenery to the Roland hut, which is closed due to avalanche damage to its extension. Since the extension is the ugliest structure I’ve seen in such a beautiful wild spot I’m inclined to say serve them right. My map showed a glacier which is now all but gone (main pic).
